A filmek olyan összetett műalkotások, amelyek egyedi, eredeti jellegéhez az alkotás folyamatában résztvevők, létrehozók akár szerzői, akár más minőségben mind hozzájárulnak, számos módon hatást gyakorolva, alakítva a végleges munkát.
Másrészről azonban a film több mint testet öltött művészi alkotómunka: a filmek kereskedelmi termékként, "gazdasági jószágként" is értelmezhetők, amelyek előállítása és forgalmazása csak jelentős munka- és tőkebefektetéssel valósulhat meg.
A film tehát egyszerre áru és műalkotás. tanulmány célja a közérthető módon összefoglalni a szerzői jog, a formatervezési mintaoltalom és a filmipar kapcsolatát, különös tekintettel a díszlet, jelmez- és kelléktervekre.

Films are complex works of art, to whose unique, original character the participants in the process of creation, the creators, whether in their capacity as authors or otherwise, all contribute, influencing and shaping the final work in a number of ways.
On the other hand, film is more than an embodied artistic work: it can also be understood as a commercial product, an 'economic good', the production and distribution of which requires a significant investment of labour and capital.
The aim of this study is to summarise in a readily understandable way the relationship between copyright, design protection and the film industry, with particular reference to set, costume and accessory design.
